Time: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Class size: 8 students
Cost: $60

From the instructor:
If you love playing with pattern and color, please join us for a workshop where we will show you how to make beautiful collage blocks. You will learn the process of painting decorative papers that will turn into distinctive collages. You will then apply your collages to wood blocks that can be hung, placed on bookshelves, or on a table. You don’t need to know how to paint to attend this workshop, you just need to want to have an uplifting evening that stimulates your creative self.
All supplies will be provided by the instructor. You are welcome to bring acrylic paints, stamps, stencils, and mark-making items of your choosing.

NEEDLE FELTING ART with Lyn Slade

Date: Saturday, May 13, 2017
Time: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Class size: 8 students
Cost: $80
Additional materials fee of $18 to be paid directly to instructor
From the instructor:
In this 6-hour workshop, you will learn the basics of needle felting art by creating an 8½ x 11" piece of your own design. Needle felting uses wool fabric as the “canvas” and colorful wool roving as the “paint” and a specific barbed needle as the “brush”. The basic method is so simple that everyone can learn it quickly. Then we can take that knowledge, add some tricks and techniques and give your piece its own personality. One of my greatest joys is the pride and pleasure on the face of a student who has completed their first needle felted work of art. Workshops are often filled with giggles and guffaws as we enjoy the creative process together.
This class will focus on a flat needle felted work, not a dimensional piece as some of my work in the gallery includes.
There will be a lunch break and an afternoon coffee break in this 6 hour workshop.
All materials that are specific to needle felting will be supplied by the instructor for an additional fee of $18. Please email the instructor and indicate if you would like a kit with cool colors or warm colors. (There will also be a big grab bag of assorted colors to augment with.)
Please bring: several original or non-copyright-protected images for inspiration, a pair of scissors for paper (if you have a choice smaller are better than larger), a school ruler, and a bag lunch.
