DRAWING SALON with Alice Phalen

Whether you use an iPhone or a high-end digital camera, are a novice or a seasoned professional, it’s always good to get back to basics. This session will deal with the fundamentals to improve your photography and ensure that you capture exactly what you expected in your camera. The 4-hour session will include presentation material, followed by hands-on field work with your camera to practice and become familiar with the concepts.

Cost: $150 for 4-week series, or $50 for a single class
Would you like to learn to paint, or to improve your skill level? Our fall weekly evening class at Artists Corner & Gallery could be just what you need. You can paint in oils, acrylics, or watercolors. We’ll review basic fundamentals, such as composition and values; you’ll learn how to mix color and use it effectively; and pick up tricks of the trade for making compelling works of art. Students will work on their own projects and leave each session with their own small painting. Beginners and intermediate painters are welcome. You can sign up for the full 4-week series, or for a single class.

In this workshop we’ll show you how to make your work unique based on your own palette and use of color. Bobbi Heath, award-winning painter and teacher, will lead the class in six weekly sessions exploring the use of color in oil and acrylic painting. We’ll review basic fundamentals such as composition and values, learn how to choose and mix color, and how to use it to express your own style. At each session, you will leave with your own small painting.
