Artist’s Statement
From the life-sized Shakespeare characters I created for my sixth grade class, to the gold painted mummy case for our unit on ancient civilizations, to my drawing of nudes at the Art Student’s League in New York City, through my college years as a graphic design major and beyond, I’ve always been inspired to create objects of visual interest.
I have been a professional graphic designer for over 30 years. When it came time to chose a major in college, I wanted Fine Arts!!! My father said: “You’ll never get a job as an artist. I suggest you go into advertising so you can earn a living!” I did. I have a BFA in graphic design from Boston University.
Finally, it’s time to do the kind of work I have a passion for. I’ve always been interested in the environment of one’s home, the place that reflects one’s interests, particularly in a visual way. To nurture that…
