Krystyna Marek (Święcicki) (1920–2008)—Artist, Printmaker, Master of Fine Arts from the George Washington University, graduated from the Central London School of Art with a Royal Society of Arts grant in England. She also studied Polish Art at the Academies of Fine Arts with a Kosciusko Foundation grant in Poland. Her years of teaching printmaking include: the Corcoran School of Art, the George Washington University, American University, Montgomery College, Maryland School of Art, and the Art League of Virginia.
Her exhibits include twelve one-woman shows in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Poland: the Smithsonian Institution (Washington), the National Portrait Gallery (London), the Corcoran Gallery of Art (Washington), Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Sztuk Pięknych (Warszawa), the Royal Academy of Art (London), and Piwnica pod Baranami (Kraków). Her works are featured in permanent collections in the National Collection of Fine Arts (Washington) and the National Museums of Art (Warszawa and Kraków) and in private collections in England, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, and the United States.
Krystyna Marek also toured multiple cities in Poland with the Graphic Arts–USA exhibition organized by the U.S. State Department in 1965, as a guide and cultural representative.
