Ed Franzek | Ed Franzek Woodworking
At a young age, my desire to do woodworking was born from the times I sat on the cellar stairs in my pajamas watching my Dad working in his wood shop, and then hearing my Mom calling, “it’s time for bed”. I first began to drive nails into boards just for fun, hitting more wood than nail. As I grew, I advanced to using the band saw to cut shapes. During high school, I would make small items in the school’s wood shop. After graduating from high school, I went to work for Jerome Rooney, the owner of a small furniture store located in Littleton. I worked with Jerome from 1972 to 1982, and was able to fine tune my skills as a wood worker. Some of the items we made were tables, hutches, chairs, and spinning wheels.
For the past twenty plus years, I had gotten away from doing much with wood, but now my interests have been rekindled and I find myself actually having come full circle where I am again making small furniture and other wooden items.
